Who We Are

Hitts Chapel is a General Baptist congregation.  This means several things.  First, it means we are autonomous, that is, all decisions are made locally - we are not controlled by our denomination.  Second, it means we practice baptism by immersion once someone confesses their belief in Jesus Christ.  Third, it means that we believe in the general atonment, which is that Christ died to make salvation to everyone.  (See our becoming a believer page if you wish to no more.)

We affiliate with the Moark Association of General Baptists and the General Association of General Baptists with the belief that in partnership with other believers and churches we can accomplish more together than we could alone, i.e, church planting, international missions, adoption assistance, etc.
